I'm used to fish like bettas and CPDs getting the old age hump, or just staying their normal shape and slowly growing, or just capping size and living out their life, but I have never see a fish go trapezoidal. Interestingly in its age it has turned trapezoidal in shape rather than lambchop shaped.
So I just check in every so often to see if it is still alive. I also can't give away a single fish that is well past 3x its expected life time. I do not want to refresh the lambchops and I do not want to euthanize the fish simply so I can stock something else. There was once a mighty herd as the online place that people warned me away from actually delivered and sent WAY more than I ordered, like 2x -3x as many.
We got all the lambchops right after we moved into the house and my wife says that was over 10 years ago. all the other shoaling fish have passed from age or that time the Fluval 40x decided it didn't feel like working and blasted the tank with ich.
